Smoothie Makers

Smoothie makers work in much the same way as standard kitchen blenders but they are specially designed to help you make smoothie drinks. To make a smoothie with a smoothie maker you simply need to add your ingredients (including ice if you like) and then blitz them together to make your drink.

Smoothie makers come with specially designed blades that are designed to be sturdy enough to chop all kinds of fruits and other ingredients, to crush ice without over heating and then to blend all the components together to make the smoothie of your choosing. These makers come in all shapes and sizes from basic smoothie makers through to high specification models that will work with more power and speed to make a more effective smoothie or more than one portion at once.

In addition many smoothie makers will come with extra features and elements to make smoothie making more simple. Common examples of this include:

Variable speed controls so that you can use a variety of different ingredients without over taxing the smoothie maker.
Pouring taps to make it easier to pour a smoothie from the maker - look for anti drip taps here if possible to save on mess.
Stirring sticks or spatulas that allow you to safely stir your smoothie with the lid of the machine on.

Jugs that can also be used as glasses so that you can make the smoothie on the maker and then simply detach the glass and drink from it.
